According to Tutto Mercato Web, Everton sent a scout to watch Torino take on Crotone on Sunday, to not only watch striker Andrea Belotti, but also midfielder Daniele Baselli.

Torino travelled to Crotone looking for a positive result to continue their fine start to the season under Sinisa Mihajlovic, and they got just that against Serie A’s bottom club – though they left it late.

Star striker Andrea Belotti kept up his blistering form by opening the scoring in the 80th minute, and he made it 2-0 in the 89th minute as his stock continues to rise.

Now, it seems that Torino’s game was of great interest to one particular Premier League club, as Tutto Mercato Web claim that Everton sent a scout to watch two of Mihajlovic’s key players on Sunday.

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport reported over the weekend that Everton were keen on striker Belotti, and it’s claimed that he was one of the two players that the Toffees looked at yesterday afternoon.

The 22-year-old striker’s two goals against Crotone mean he has now hit ten goals in 11 league games this season, whilst his three goals in five caps for Italy have made him one of the most in-demand goalscorers in Europe.

However, not only did Everton have another look at Belotti, but they also watched his team-mate Daniele Baselli, with Toffees manager Ronald Koeman believed to be a huge fan of both players.

Baselli, 24, has been hailed in Italian football as the country’s next great midfielder, and not only has he starred this season with four goals and two assists, but he also notched four goals and three assists last term too.

With Everton looking for a long-term successor to Gareth Barry, Baselli may be eyed up as a potential transfer target, but any double swoop on Torino for Baselli and Belotti would certainly set the Toffees back financially – whilst it would be little surprise if the Everton scout was also watching goalkeeper Joe Hart, who is on loan at Torino from Manchester City.
