Everton and Manchester United appear to be backing away from Yerry Mina.

According to Goal, Everton have pulled their offer for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina – and Manchester United are doing the same after pushing for Toby Alderweireld.
Mina, 23, only joined Barcelona in January, and struggled to make an impact at the Camp Nou behind Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, whilst the summer addition of Clement Lenglet resulted in more questions about his future.
The 6ft 5in centre back did go and have a strong World Cup campaign with Colombia, scoring three goals in three games, but his defending remains raw and rough around the edges, with major development needed.
A number of clubs around the world have been attempting to land Mina, with Everton and Manchester United seemingly at the front of the queue – but both teams may just be backing off.
Goal report that Everton have grown frustrated with Mina’s stalling and have now pulled their offer to the defender, feeling that they have been ‘used’ in order to negotiate a better offer elsewhere.
Manchester United also appear to be backing away from Mina, as a breakthrough in talks over a deal for Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld means that the Barca misfit is now just a fall back option – much like he made Everton.

That now means that Mina is unlikely to get his Premier League move before Thursday’s transfer deadline, with his stalling over a move to Everton seemingly ruling out Goodison Park as a destination.
Other clubs could come in for him yet, but staying with Barca seems most likely, where he would be fourth or even fifth choice under Ernesto Valverde, which may just leave him to wonder if he should have been more open to joining Everton.
