Everton reportedly snubbed a swap deal from Inter Milan on deadline day.

According to Calcio Mercato, Everton snubbed a swap proposal from Inter Milan on deadline day, which involved Morgan Schneiderlin and Marcelo Brozovic.
The Toffees enjoyed a fine evening on Wednesday, as they beat Leicester City 2-1 at Goodison Park to record their first win of 2018 after seven games without a win in all competitions.
Off the pitch, Everton managed to get a couple of deals done on deadline day, as they snapped up Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala on loan until the end of the season, and also sent Ademola Lookman out to RB Leipzig for the remainder of the campaign.

However, details are now emerging over a deal which could have been done on deadline, with Calcio Mercato claiming that Inter Milan offered them the chance to swap Morgan Schneiderlin for Marcelo Brozovic.
It’s stated that Everton rejected the proposal though, with Inter receiving a similar stance to West Ham United over Schneiderlin’s future ahead of the transfer window.
The French midfielder hasn’t enjoyed his best season by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems that manager Sam Allardyce is willing to try and resurrect his career and get him back to his best, rather than send him off elsewhere.

A deal for Brozovic would surely have been tempting, though. The 25-year-old Croatian international has notched three goals and two assists in Serie A this season despite starting just eight games, and offers versatility to play centrally or out wide.
Primarily a creative player whilst Schneiderlin is more defensive, Everton may have felt that Brozovic would have left them unbalanced, and Allardyce chose to stick with what he’s got rather than attempt a complicated swap deal on deadline day.
