Everton have included Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson on their wishlist this summer.

A report in the Daily Star has suggested that Everton have received a slight boost in their pursuit of Swansea City talisman Gylfi Sigurdsson with the Swans ready to reach a compromise over his asking price.

The Star reports that the relegation-threatened side ideally want £30 million for the playmaker – whose form has arguably been a key reason why Paul Clement’s men appear to be on the verge of securing survival – while the Toffees are hoping to pay £5 million less for the 27-year-old.

Luckily for Everton, the Star adds that the Welsh side are willing to lower their valuation, seemingly leaving the path clear for the Merseyside outfit to make an acceptable bid this summer.

Given what the Iceland international has shown at the Liberty Stadium this term, it would undoubtedly be a major statement from Ronald Koeman’s men if they managed to make a deal happen.

The former Tottenham man has scored nine times in the top flight, while also contributing 13 assists, meaning that he has been directly involved in more than half of Swansea’s 43 league goals this term.

Meanwhile, only Romelu Lukaku has been directly involved in more goals in what has been an incredibly promising season for Everton, so adding Sigurdsson to their ranks may be a game-changer for the Toffees as they chase their top four rivals.

And while the fact that they are already willing to pay £25 million for the attacking midfielder would probably leave fans urging the club to throw in the extra £5 million if that is what it takes, it appears that they may not have to with Swansea supposedly willing to compromise.
