Everton are ready to test Brighton & Hove Albion’s resolve with a £20 million bid for Anthony Knockaert, according to ESPN.
Knockaert scored 15 goals and created another nine as the Seagulls secured promotion as Championship runners-up this season.
And the Frenchman’s displays are said to have made him a key target for Everton, who are in the market for a new wide player with Yannick Bolasie sidelined until the New Year.
Knockaert is well known to Everton director of football Steve Walsh, who signed him from the French second tier while employed by Leicester City.

The 25-year-old played nine times for the Foxes at Premier League level, but was released at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Everton have been strongly linked with a move for Eupen’s Henry Onyekuru who, at £7 million, could represent better value than Knockaert.
The 19-year-old, who confirmed to Voetbalkrant he could be an Everton player next season, has scored 18 goals and created another nine in this season’s Belgian Pro League.
However, it is claimed that the Toffees would have to pay Onyekuru a minimum of £32,000 in order to secure a work permit for the uncapped Nigerian.
