Everton have reportedly decided that Celtic defender Kieran Tierney could be a smart addition at Goodison Park.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic is seen during the Scottish Premier League between Celtic and Kilmarnock at Celtic Park on May 9, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Everton are ready to bid for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

Tierney has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a considerable amount of time, but the Bhoys have been able to resist all offers so far.

However, Everton are now keen on the left-back and want to bring him to Goodison Park.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic is seen during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on April 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Everton are chasing a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines this summer, and Tierney is said to have been identified by Marco Silva and Marcel Brands as a top target.

Everton are now set to make a bid for the Celtic defender, but he is unlikely to come cheaply.

Tierney is regarded as the top talent in Scotland, and is vital to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic controls the ball during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Hibernian at Celtic Park Stadium on September 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Tierney is a big Celtic fan and has previously suggested he could spend his entire career at Parkhead, but Everton are said to be keen to test whether a deal could be possible in the coming weeks.

Everton struggled at left-back last season, with Baines often injured and Cuco Martina often having to cover in the position.
