Everton lowering their valuation of Tottenham target Ross Barkley as midfielder enters final year of his contract.

Ross Barkley’s time at Everton looks to be coming to an end, with the club now ready to accept £30m or less for the midfielder, according to Bleacher Report.

Originally the England international was valued closer to £50m, but having entered the final year of his current contract at Goodison Park that has now dropped significantly.

Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to sign Barkley, but with his deal running out football.london reports that the North Londoners believe they can drive that price even lower.

Speculation about the 23-year-old’s future increased recently when he was left out of the squad for a pre-season tour of Tanzania, but manager Ronald Koeman has since insisted that was because of a groin injury.

Barkley has turned down the chance to sign a new contract on Merseyside, though, and Koeman previously admitted to the BBC that unless the Englishman signed a new deal he would have to be sold.

That is because Everton do not want to lose one of their most prized assets on a free transfer in 12 months time, but Spurs seem prepared to play the waiting game to get the cheapest possible outcome.
