Everton are reportedly keen on Villarreal’s Denis Cheryshev.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Everton are interested in snapping up Villarreal winger Denis Cheryshev after his stunning World Cup campaign for Russia.
The Toffees have already added one winger in Richarlison, and the Brazilian remains Everton’s only summer signing ahead of the new Premier League season.
Despite Richarlison’s big-money reunion with new Everton boss Marco Silva, Everton continue to be linked with new wingers, mostly because of the ongoing confusion surrounding Ademola Lookman’s future.
Spanish newspaper Marca now report that Everton have been pursuing a deal for Villarreal wide man Denis Cheryshev, who made headlines at the World Cup in his native Russia this summer.
Cheryshev bagged a brace in the first game of the tournament against Saudi Arabia, added another on against Egypt in Russia’s second game, and slammed home a stunning long-range goal against Croatia in the quarter-finals.

The 27-year-old’s sensational tournament was a far cry from his league form, as he made just nine starts for Villarreal last season and registered only two goals and one assist, meaning his four-goal haul at the World Cup was far better than his league campaign.
Villarreal may be keen to keep Cheryshev in order to see if he can rekindle that form this season, but Everton’s interest may give them something to think about if reports are to be believed.
