Everton are reportedly keen on Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose.
According to The Mirror, Everton have now joined the race for Tottenham Hotspur left back Danny Rose after Manchester United cooled their interest.
Rose, 27, was a key part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side during the 2015-16 season and the first half of last season too, but his Spurs career has been somewhat strange since then.
The left back missed nine months of 2017 through injury, but that didn’t stop him from suggesting that he deserved a pay rise, whilst also criticising the club’s transfer policy and admitting that he wanted to move back up North in an interview with The Sun before the start of this season.
The England international – who may yet miss out on a World Cup spot – hasn’t quite got himself back into Mauricio Pochettino’s good books since that, and he has made just eight Premier League starts this term.
Now, The Mirror report that Manchester United are cooling their interest in Rose as a result of his unimpressive season, but Everton could yet offer him a return to the North.
It’s claimed that Rose is Everton’s preferred target to succeed Leighton Baines at left back, and could launch a move to sign him this summer in an ambition swoop for the Toffees.
The report claims that Tottenham could demand around £37million for Rose, which is some way below the previously claimed fees in the region of £50million, but Spurs fans may just want to see the back of Rose and put an end to the bizarre turn to his Tottenham career.
