According to The Athletic, Everton’s Jonas Lossl is on the verge of completing a free transfer switch to FC Midtjylland as we approach the end of the January transfer window.
The Danish goalkeeper hasn’t really had much of a chance at Everton, playing second-fiddle to Jordan Pickford last season, before the arrival of Robin Olsen saw him drop down to third choice, eventually leading to a loan spell with his former side Huddersfield Town.
Lossl has never made a league appearance for Everton, and it seems as though he’s never going to get that opportunity as he’s set to leave on a free.
This is probably a move that suits all parties at the moment, Lossl will get a chance to play football and return to his home country, while the Toffees get him off their wage bill.
Of course, this now begs the question about what Everton will do in terms of a backup goalkeeper next season.

Olsen is only on loan, so his future at the club isn’t secured, but there have been rumours about them bringing him on a permanent deal, but that’s a matter that will be addressed in the summer.
Lossl looks set to close this chapter of his career, and we can only hope that he gets more chances to play and enjoy his football back in Denmark.
