According to Antena 2, James Rodriguez is close to leaving Everton, just days after the arrival of Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park.
What’s the story?
Well, the 29-year-old has been offered to AC Milan by his agent, Jorge Mendes.
It seems those at the San Siro, including Sporting Director Paolo Maldini, have been left intrigued by this offer, and are keen to take it up.
Antena 2 claim that Rodriguez will earn €6 million-a-year at AC Milan, which equates to £100,000-a-week.
That is slightly more than his current £90,000-a-week wages at Everton.
Antena 2 add that AC Milan will pay Everton €10 million (£8.6 million) as Rodriguez still has one year left on his contract with the Toffees.
Very disappointing

If this news is true, it’s very disappointing to hear.
Rodriguez is yet to actually play in front of a packed Goodison Park, so it will be very sad to see him leave before doing so.
The Colombian’s arrival was, obviously, largely down to Carlo Ancelotti’s presence on Merseyside.

However, it’s also disappointing to see him decide to jump ship as well.
It shows that Rodriguez was only ever at Everton for Ancelotti, and suggests he has no intention of standing on his own two feet at Goodison Park.
Hopefully, Benitez can put that £8.6 million to good use in the transfer market.
