Everton are reportedly keen on Arsenal defender Calum Chambers.
Calum Chambers looks dejected
According to the Daily Mail, Everton will turn to Arsenal defender Calum Chambers if they can’t secure a deal for Burnley centre back Michael Keane.
The Toffees tied up two deals earlier this week by snapping up Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen, but more additions will be needed for Ronald Koeman’s side.
Burnley’s Michael Keane
Everton will be in the Europa League next season, and one area that Koeman may want to strengthen to boost his squad is at centre back, where Phil Jagielka is ageing and Ramiro Funes Mori hasn’t proven himself as a top Premier League defender.
The Daily Mail now report that whilst Everton’s top target for the role is Burnley’s Michael Keane, the Toffees are also looking at other options, with Arsenal defender Calum Chambers their backup plan.

Chambers, 22, joined Arsenal from Southampton in the summer of 2014, but made just 36 Premier League appearances for the Gunners before heading on loan to Middlesbrough last season.
The centre back – who can also play at right back – played 24 Premier League games for Middlesbrough and was given a real challenge in his time away from Arsenal given that Boro failed in their battle against relegation.

Chambers now returns to Arsenal, but finds himself behind Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Per Mertesacker and possibly even Rob Holding in Arsene Wenger’s defensive pecking order.
It’s now claimed that Arsenal could be open to selling Chambers for £15million this summer, which would be considerably cheaper than a deal for Burnley’s 24-year-old ace Keane – and Everton will seemingly battle Newcastle for Chambers’ signature if they can’t land Keane this summer.
