According to The Liverpool Echo, Everton will hand Nathangelo Markelo a new deal and then send him out on loan.

The 21-year-old is out of contract at Everton at end of June, but the Toffees plan to hold onto him beyond the summer transfer window, according to the report.

It has been claimed that the Merseyside outfit will either trigger the 12-month extension in the midfielder’s contract or hand him a new deal.

In addition to that, according to the report, Everton will loan him out to a club in the Netherlands for the 2020-21 campaign.

The Liverpool Echo has added that the Toffees have told Morgan Feeney that they will release the 21-year-old defender next month when his current contract runs out.

Future

Markelo is a very talented and promising young midfielder, who will be looking to progress in his native Netherlands next season if he is sent out on loan.

Regular first-team football at this stage of his career will be massive for the 21-year-old and will help him grow and develop.

As for Feeney, the youngster is a good defender, and he could find a club in the Championship for next season and beyond.
