Lewis Gibson’s will be granted a loan move away from Everton but it could be that the youngster has to wait before being allowed to make the switch, the Liverpool Echo report.

Gibson was sent out on loan by Everton to Fleetwood Town last season, and it seems that another temporary move is in the pipeline for the youngster.

Gibson impressed at League One level, so Everton may be hoping to get him game time at a higher level next year, as they look to prepare him for life at the top level.

When Marco Silva was in charge, he said that Gibson wasn’t ready to play in the Premier League to the Liverpool Echo.

And it seems that Carlo Ancelotti has decided that loaning the centre-back out will be the best move for his development.

Everton are in no rush to offload Gibson though, and he may well get time on the training ground with the Toffees’ first-team squad over pre-season.

Gibson is considered one of the brightest prospects currently breaking through at Goodison Park, and it is understandable why Everton are cautious over sanctioning a move right now.

The Toffees are short of options at the back currently, with Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and Mason Holgate their only real senior options in central defence.

Everton are likely to buy another centre-half this summer, and it could be that Ancelotti is waiting for that signing to be complete, before giving Gibson permission to leave.
