Everton reportedly had to pay Roberto Martinez a fee of £10 million when they dismissed him last season.
According to The Sun, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has been left angered by having to spend such a large sum of money paying off Roberto Martinez.
Martinez left Everton towards the back end of last season, and The Sun say that he was given a £10 million pay off.
Moshiri now wants to know who sanctioned giving the Spaniard that clause in his contract.
The Toffees new major shareholder is frustrated at having to spend such a large sum of replacing a manager, when he could have invested the money in the squad.
Moshiri has reportedly questioned a number of Everton’s staff to find out who opted to allow Martinez to have such a big pay off, but nobody at Goodison Park has admitted to it being their responsibility.
Moshiri may find that the decision to replace Martinez was money well spent, as new boss Ronald Koeman has made an impressive start at Everton.
The Toffees are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table, and they have lost just one of their first seven matches this term.
