The report claims Everton have made an eight-figure offer for the German striker.

Website Get German Football News have claimed in an exclusive that Everton have offered Bundesliga club Hannover £19.3million for commanding centre-forward Niclas Füllkrug.

Füllkrug, 25, was sensational for Hannover throughout the 2017-18 campaign, scoring 16 goals in 36 league and cup encounters in a side that narrowly avoided relegation by seven points.

Indeed, the German forward scored about a third of the club’s 44 league goals, finding the back of the net 14 times in the league. A throwback to the old-fashioned, powerful target man, Füllkrug stands at a lofty 6ft 2in.

The report claims Everton have offered nearly £20million for Füllkrug, but the fee is believed to be below Hannover’s valuation of the German youth international. However, talks are ongoing with Everton looking to reach a compromise.

Füllkrug has a contract at Hannover until the summer of 2020, but could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League despite Everton boasting plenty of options up front.

Cenk Tosun of Everton celebrates scoring his side's first goal during the Premier League match between Burnley and Everton at Turf Moor on March 3, 2018 in Burnley, England.

Cenk Tosun was signed from Besiktas in January, and he continues to rival Oumar Niasse, Dom Calvert-Lewin and Sandro Ramirez for a place in the side. However, Everton are yet to find a regular goalscorer since the loss of Romelu Lukaku.

However, Füllkrug could be that man, with Everton seemingly keen to land the German as they continue to pursue a deal.
