According to the Daily Mail, Everton have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier.
It’s claimed that Everton want to sign Norwich City right back Max Aarons, but are reluctant to cough up the £30million required.
The Toffees may subsequently need to look at other right backs, with Trippier now being offered up to Carlo Ancelotti and co.
The offer is likely to have come from Trippier’s agent rather than Atletico themselves, with the 30-year-old potentially looking for a return to England.
Trippier was born in Bury, so coming back to the North West should be appealing to him if he wants to bring an end to his Spanish adventure.
Signed by Atletico from Spurs in 2019, Trippier has picked up six assists in 23 league games this season as well as five assists last term.
His Premier League experience has to be appealing, and he could certainly come in and offer real competition for Seamus Coleman.
Aarons is much younger and could be a long-term answer for Everton at right back, but you have to consider Ancelotti’s opinion here.
Earlier this year, Area Napoli carried quotes from journalist Valter De Maggio in which he claims Ancelotti told Napoli to sign Trippier from Tottenham.
Napoli wouldn’t do the deal, so off he went to Atletico instead. This surely means that Ancelotti is a big fan of Trippier, and the offer to sign him could be very tempting.
