Everton are interested in bringing Brice Samba back to the Premier League just months after Nottingham Forest sold him to RC Lens.

That is according to 90min, who believe Frank Lampard is keen to sign the 28-year-old as a result of his stunning efforts in France so far this season.

Everton want Samba after Nottingham Forest exit

Well, the Linzolo-born goalkeeper gave up his chance to represent Nottingham Forest in the Premier League when pushing to leave the City Ground over the summer, just weeks after helping them win the Championship play-off final.

Samba had just 12 months remaining on his contract, so Steve Cooper was left with no choice but to agree to sell his No.1 to RC Lens in a deal worth only £4.3m back in July.

Now, Samba could be on his way back to England.

90min believe Everton – as well as Leicester and Brighton – have been impressed by his performances in Ligue 1 as RC Lens sit second in the table behind Paris Saint-Germain.

Samba has shone in France’s top-flight, to say the least.

In 15 appearances so far this season, the Everton target has remarkably kept seven clean sheets while also conceding just ten goals.

Everton interest could suggest Lampard planning for life after Pickford

In our view, Lampard’s interest in Samba could suggest he is not confident about keeping Jordan Pickford at Goodison Park.

90min believe Tottenham are keeping an eye on the England international, while the Telegraph have revealed that Manchester United are also interested amid doubts over the future of David de Gea.

Pickford will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season, so the timing of Everton’s interest in Samba is certainly interesting.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the shot-stopper could soon be returning to English football.
