Everton have joined the race to snap up Sunderland winger Jack Clarke as Sean Dyche seeks to bring in attacking reinforcements.

Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke could make a Premier League return with Everton now interested.

That is according to iNews, who claim that Everton are joining the race to sign Clarke this summer.

It’s stated that four Premier League clubs are now looking to lure Clarke away from Sunderland.

Brentford, Burnley and Crystal Palace are also in the race with Clarke allegedly valued at around £15million.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week that those three clubs had already made offers to sign Clarke.

That leaves Everton a little behind in this race but Dyche and co will be hoping to push to the front of the queue.

Jack Clarke may want another Premier League chance

Clarke has been through a real rollercoaster of a career so far.

The 22-year-old emerged in the Leeds United ranks and looked destined for stardom.

Clarke was taken ill during a 2019 game against Middlesbrough and seemed to take a while to get back on track.

Even though Clarke joined Tottenham that summer, the move to Spurs didn’t quite work out for him.

Clarke never even made a single Premier League appearance for Tottenham and was limited to just four appearances in all competitions.

Loans to Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City didn’t get Clarke back on track out but dropping into League One with Sunderland helped.

Clarke’s move to Sunderland became permanent last summer and he has thrived on Wearside.

Clarke bagged nine goals and 12 assists in 47 league games this season, including Sunderland’s playoff campaign.

The former Spurs and Leeds man is now really kicking on could make a Premier League return just a year since being sold by Tottenham.

Clarke would no doubt love to prove Spurs wrong by shining in the top flight and Everton could now offer him that chance.
