Everton have now made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt over a deal to sign Liverpool target Randal Kolo Muani – who rejected a move to Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, the Toffees have now enquired about the France international – according to RMC Sport.
The German outfit are believed to want €60m (£53m) for Muani after he shone for France at the World Cup, scoring in the 2-0 win over Morocco at the semi-final stage before causing havoc in the final against Argentina.
RMC Sport add that Newcastle handed the striker a “blank cheque” back in the summer after his contract with Nantes expired, although he rejected the Magpies in favour of moving to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The French news outlet add that Liverpool enquired about Muani before the World Cup began.
So far this season, the 24-year-old has been in sensation form for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Muani has scored eight goals – while also providing 11 assists – in 23 appearances for the Bundesliga side, and is already starting to look like the signing of the 2022/23 season.
RMC Sport state that Eintracht Frankfurt believe the Frenchman can become their club-record sale, exceeding the £52.4m deal which saw Luka Jovic leave for Real Madrid in 2019.
Everton will surely struggle to sign Liverpool & Newcastle target
In our view, it would be very surprising if Muani ended up at Everton.
The Toffees face fierce competition for his signature with Liverpool sniffing around, while RMC Sport add that Bayern Munich and Tottenham are also interested.
Furthermore, Frank Lampard’s side are not the most attractive outfit in England right now, as they find themselves at risk of dropping into the Championship.
Everton currently sit 16th in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone.
Having said that, anything can happen in football, so keep an eye on Muani’s situation.
