According to TEAMtalk, Everton are now leading the race to sign Daryl Dike after Barnsley crashed out of the Championship Play-Off semi-final.
The Tykes benefitted from having Dike on loan from Orlando City this season, as he scored nine goals in 19 Championship appearances.
Barnsley held an option to sign him for £18 million. However, they simply cannot afford that having failed to win promotion to the Premier League.
Some Barnsley fans have already said goodbye to the forward.
Now, Everton – and also Wolves – are said to be front of the queue to sign him, and there are quite a few clubs in that queue.
Who else wants to sign Daryl Dike?
TEAMtalk state that there are 11 clubs in total who want the 20-year-old.
In addition to Everton and Wolves, Leeds are mentioned as a potential destination for Dyke.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Brom, Fulham, Brighton and Norwich also want the 2-cap USA international.
It’s no surprise to see so many clubs interested in Dike.
It was very impressive to see him take the Championship by storm, as he’d only ever played in the US, and is also just 20 years of age.

Dike has been described as having a ‘rocket of a right foot’ by his Barnsley teammate Jordan Williams.
As quoted by the Yorkshire Post (via the BBC), Williams said: “Daryl has got a rocket of a right foot. I think he’s similar to Lukaku. He hasn’t scored as many goals yet, but he can hit a ball just as hard.”
With so many clubs interested in the American, it will be very interesting to see where he ends up – keep your eyes peeled.
