Everton are edging closer to tying up a deal for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

According to the Daily Mail, Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has undergone a medical in Poland ahead of completing his move to Everton.
Whilst Sunderland suffered relegation to the Championship last season, goalkeeper Pickford was one of the few players to come out of the campaign with any sort of credit.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper starred between the sticks for Sunderland, making save after save for the Black Cats to keep his side in games – or at least make the scorelines somewhat respectable.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Pickford is all set to join Everton in a deal that will eventually be worth £30million, with the goalkeeper undergoing a medical in Poland ahead of his switch.
Pickford is currently away in Kielce with the England Under-21’s ahead of their European Championships campaign, which could end on the 30th July if the Three Lions manage to reach the final.

Given that Pickford would be entitled to a three-week break following the tournament, Everton don’t want to wait around, and sent a delegation to Poland on Wednesday in order to put Pickford through the usual medical checks.
That takes Everton one step closer to confirming Pickford as their first signing of the summer, in what is a huge deal for the club both financially and on the pitch.

It’s a considerable investment from Farhad Moshiri, but manager Ronald Koeman certainly needed a goalkeeper to build around, given that neither Maarten Stekelenburg nor Joel Robles have proven themselves worthy of being first-choice long-term.
Pickford now gives Everton a solid goalkeeper for years to come, and he has already impressed with his shot-stopping and his exceptional distribution, making this a superb addition to an ambitious Toffees side.
