According to The Mirror, Everton, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all interested in signing Arsenal defender Calum Chambers this summer.
Chambers, 22, joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2014 having emerged through the famed Saints ranks, making 22 Premier League appearances for the club before his big-money move to North London.
Whilst the centre back – who can also play at right back – made 23 Premier league appearances in his first season with Arsenal, he played just 22 times in all competitions last term, and was subsequently sent out on loan to Middlesbrough.
In the midst of a relegation battle in the North East, Chambers has toughened up and played regular first-team football, and whilst he’s currently out injured, interest in his signature is building ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Mirror report that Everton boss Ronald Koeman is keen to reunite with Chambers having very briefly worked with the defender at Southampton, whilst both Newcastle and West Ham United have allegedly informed Arsenal that they’re interested too.
Everton have two centre backs over the age of 30 in Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka, and Chambers – a centre back comfortable with the ball at his feet – could be seen as the replacement for John Stones, who was sold to Manchester City last summer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle could see Chambers as a right back, or as a player who can step in for one of Jamaal Lascelles or Ciaran Clark as they prepare for promotion back to the Premier League, whilst Jose Fonte’s poor start and Winston Reid’s injury man that West Ham could look to Chambers to aid their leaky defence.
It’s stated that all three teams are prepared to pay £10million or more for Chambers, giving Arsenal a decision to make this summer, given that he would be behind the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Gabriel Paulista in the pecking order.
