Everton are reportedly closing in on River Plate talent Santiago Sosa.

According to One Football, Everton are closing in on River Plate midfielder Santiago Sosa as their first summer signing, with his agent believed to be heading to Goodison Park this week.
The Toffees are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, having missed out on European qualification in Marco Silva’s first season as the club.
Midfield reinforcements will be needed no matter what the future holds for Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye, and Marcel Brands appears to have found a young midfielder to lure to Merseyside.
River Plate’s Sosa has been linked over the last seven days, and One Football claim that a deal is now close to being agreed for him to move to Goodison Park.
It’s believed that Everton will pay €15million (£13million) to sign Sosa, and his agent Hernan Berman will allegedly travel to Goodison in a matter of days to try and finalise the deal.

With River needing the cash, Everton will hope for a pain-free deal, and a work permit may be pursued on ‘special talent’ grounds, as is often the case in the Premier League.
Sosa, 20, has only played four league games for River, but his potential has seemingly caught Brands’ eye, who is getting in early to bring the youngster to England.
