According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are reluctant to sell striker Tammy Abraham to Everton or Leicester City this summer – and could instead loan him to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Abraham, 19, joined Chelsea way back in 2004 and has come up through the ranks at Stamford Bridge, but has made just two first-team appearances for the Blues.

The 6ft 4in striker, who has notched two goals in two caps for the England Under-21’s, was loaned out to Bristol City last summer – and he responded by enjoying a remarkable season.

Abraham smashed 26 goals in 48 games for the Robins this season, but still doesn’t appear to be in Antonio Conte’s immediate plans behind main strikers Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Everton and Leicester City are keen to sign Abraham this summer, but Chelsea are likely to block attempts to purchase the striker, instead preferring to loan him out.

It’s claimed that Chelsea want to loan Abraham out again, and newly-promoted Brighton and Hove Albion have emerged as a potential suitor as they prepare for their first Premier League campaign.

Chris Hughton does have Sam Baldock and Glenn Murray at his disposal, but Abraham would almost certainly receive first-team football at the Amex Stadium – which is exactly what Chelsea want.

It seems that Everton will have their work cut out if they want to sign Abraham this summer, with Chelsea unsurprisingly keen to keep hold of one of their top young talents, whilst Brighton’s relationship with the Blues could aid them too, having taken defender Fikayo Tomori on loan earlier this year.
