Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley this summer.
According to a report in the Telegraph, Ross Barkley is set to miss Ronald Koeman’s deadline to sign a new contract at Everton.
The Toffees attacking midfielder has been given until the end of the season to agree new terms at Goodison Park.
However, Barkley is not wanting to rush into any decisions over his future – as he decides whether a move away would be good for him.

Everton have said that if Barkley doesn’t sign a new deal in the next few weeks then he will be offloaded, with Tottenham Hotspur the most likely buyers.
Koeman stated at a press conference that Barkley would have to commit his future in the near future, or risk being sold, but Barkley is set to defy his manager’s wish as he contemplates where his future lies.
Barkley has not refused ruling out penning a new deal at Everton, but wants more time to decide ahead of the summer transfer window.

Whether Koeman will be willing to relent on his deadline for Barkley remains to be seen.
Tottenham are reportedly very keen on Barkley, with Mauricio Pochettino making the midfielder one of his top targets for the summer.
If Barkley was to move to Spurs, he would be in competition with the likes of Christian Eriksen and the returning Erik Lamela for a first-team place next season.
