Everton are pushing hard to sign Allan from Napoli, the Daily Mail suggest.

Everton have held further talks with the Italian club recently, as they look to bring Allan to Goodison Park for next season.

Carlo Ancelotti has made strengthening Everton’s midfield one of his main priorities this summer, although he is yet to make a signing.

Everton will have to pay £30 million to land Allan, but they are continuing to discuss making the transfer.

If Everton can get hold of Allan he could be a great addition to their squad.

The all action Brazilian, who is on a £63,000-a-week contract at Napoli (FutballNews), has proven his quality in Serie A over a number of years, and he would surely make Everton a far stronger side.

Ancelotti’s side were far too weak in the middle of the park last term, as almost all their options in the position struggled to make a positive impact.

But Allan’s arrival would increase their combativeness and tenacity, and he would be the sort of marquee addition which would really outline Everton’s ambition ahead of the new campaign.
