According to the Daily Mail, Everton have discussed a potential deal for Metz talent Pape Sarr as they look to land a coup.

The Toffees have made their first move by discussing a move with Metz, but the French side want to initiate a bidding war.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also keen on Sarr, meaning Everton may face a real battle to get Sarr signed up.

Metz want a huge £27million fee for Sarr, who only made his senior debut for the club back in November.

That’s a massive price for Everton to be paying, but they have clearly seen massive potential in Sarr.

The 18-year-old has picked up two goals in 18 league games this season, playing as a holding midfielder, box-to-box midfielder or even as a number 10.

Sarr admitted earlier this month that he loves Sadio Mane, as well as ex-Liverpool attacker El-Hadji Diouf, but he could find himself on the blue half of Merseyside.

Admiring his fellow Senegalese talents is understandable, and if he can go on to be like previous Metz products Mane or Ismaila Sarr, then Everton could end up being very, very happy.
