Everton are reportedly keen on Boca Juniors defender Frank Fabra.
According to Argentinian radio station El Crack Deportivo, Everton have made contact with Boca Juniors defender Frank Fabra about making a summer move to Goodison Park.
Fabra, 27, emerged in his native Colombia with Envigado, Deportivo Cali and Independiente Medellin, before his performances earned him a move to Boca in 2016.
An attack-minded left back with pace and power, Fabra has starred for Boca, notching two goals and three assists in 18 league games for the Argentinian giants this season.
Now, it’s claimed that Italian side Napoli are keen on Fabra, but Everton have allegedly made contact with him already, and would be willing to sign him after the World Cup in Russia this summer.
The successor to Baines?
One of the keys to Everton’s summer transfer window is finding a successor to Leighton Baines, given that Sam Allardyce has no proven cover at left back.
Cuco Martina has been pressed into action there this season with limited results, and finding a natural left back this summer has to be a priority for Everton – no matter who their manager is next season.
Fabra, who will feature for Colombia at the World Cup in Russia this summer, has 17 caps for his country, and could command major interest after the tournament.
With just one year left on his Boca contract, the Argentinians may be forced to cash in this summer, and Everton may well be hoping to secure a deal for the defender at the end of the season.
