Everton have been linked with Baba Rahman of Chelsea and Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt in the January transfer window.

Ghana's defender Baba Rahman takes part in a training session in Port-Gentil on January 15, 2017, during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations football tournament in Gabon.

Everton are interested in signing Baba Rahman of Chelsea and Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt, according to The Daily Mail (Transfer live blog, 14:57, Saturday, January 20, 2018).

It has been reported that Everton have made enquiries for 23-year-old Chelsea left-back Rahman, as well for 27-year-old Palace left-back Van Aanholt.

Manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly keen on signing a left-back on loan in the January transfer window in order to provide cover for Leighton Baines.

Van Aanholt is an established left-back and knows the Premier League inside out, and the Netherlands international would be a very good and smart signing for Everton.

However, with Palace struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment, the Eagles may not be willing to part company with the Dutchman in the middle of the season.

Rahman is probably a more feasible option for Everton. The 23-year-old Ghana international left-back could be convinced to move to Goodison Park with assurances of getting decent playing time.

Van Aanholt joined Palace from Sunderland in January 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Telegraph to be worth £9 million, while Chelsea signed Rahman from Augsburg in the summer of 2015 for an initial transfer fee reported by The Telegraph to be worth £14m.
