According to HLN, Everton made an approach for Anthony Barry earlier this week, the assistant of Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.
What’s the story?
Well, Lampard clearly hasn’t finished constructing his backroom staff, despite the recent appointment of Ashley Cole.
HLN discuss Barry’s decision to quit his part-time role with the Republic of Ireland to take up a similar job at Belgium, alongside Roberto Martinez.
The 35-year-old undergoes his duties with Belgium alongside his main job as Tuchel’s assistant at Stamford Bridge, and he’s clearly doing well.
HLN believe Tuchel wants to keep Barry in west London, and turned down Everton’s advances as a result.
As things stand, Lampard will not be adding the highly rated young coach to his team at Goodison Park.
Everton and Frank Lampard shouldn’t be concerned

Of course, it would’ve been nice to see Barry on Merseyside, as he sounds like a fantastic young coach.
Tuchel’s assistant played his part as Chelsea lifted the Champions League last season, and the knowledge gained from working under the German must be invaluable.
Nevertheless, Lampard still has a great team around him at Everton, so he shouldn’t be too concerned.
The 43-year-old has Joe Edwards alongside him, a coach who Everton describe as highly rated on their official website.

Lampard also has Paul Clement, a man who has helped win numerous trophies at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The feelgood factor is starting to return at Goodison Park, and yesterday’s 4-1 win over Brentford in the FA Cup made for fantastic viewing.
With or without Barry at Everton, Lampard has all the tools needed to become a success at Goodison Park.
