Everton are said to have made a move for the teenager
According to an exclusive report from Team Talk, Everton have made a £500,000 bid for Queens Park Rangers winger Josh Bowler.
The 18-year-old has only made one senior appearance for the Championship side to date, coming off the bench for the last 21 minutes of their 4-0 defeat against Norwich City earlier this month.
Despite his lack of experience, the Toffees clearly rate him highly and Team Talk claims that while the initial offer is £500,000 it contains add-ons that could see the fee rise to as much as £3million.
That is a huge amount of money for a youngster with so little first-team experience and is indicative of his innate talent and Everton’s apparent belief that he will become a star of the future.
Bowler is currently contracted to QPR and they are said to be reluctant to agree a move; although if the player is to move on this summer the Hoops are seeking a bigger initial payment.
It remains to be seen how high Ronald Koeman’s side would be willing to go from the outset, with add-ons usually designed to guard against poor investments; the significant extras only reaching the selling club if a player becomes a first-team regular.
Everton showed with the recent purchase of Ademola Lookman that they are planning for the future and in Bowler they would be signing another very talented wide man…if a deal can ultimately be agreed that suits all parties.
