Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly cooled their interest in Andre Gomes.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are now seemingly in pole position to sign Andre Gomes after Tottenham Hotspur allegedly cooled their interest in him.
Gomes, 25, had lost his way at Barcelona following a big 2016 move from Valencia, and he decided to leave the Catalan giants for a move to England with Everton.
The Portuguese midfielder impressed at Goodison Park, but his displays on loan have sparked major interest in his permanent signature, and Tottenham have been heavily linked.
However, the Liverpool Echo claim that the Champions League finalists have now cooled their interest in Gomes, leading Everton at the front of the queue.
West Ham United are keen too, but having offered £18million, they’re some way shy of the £30million needed to tempt Barcelona into a deal, and Everton will hope that his successful loan spell will help them win the race.

Tottenham instead appear to have turned their attention to Giovani Lo Celso, though Real Betis have rebuffed their opening offer of £53million.
It’s a surprise to see Spurs taking the more expensive option, and Gomes may only be a fallback option if they can’t land Lo Celso, but it may all work out perfectly for Everton if they can secure Gomes.
