West Ham United are said to have had a bid turned down for the alleged Everton target.
Everton “will look to make headway on their proposed move for Steven N’Zonzi over the next 48 hours”, according to the Daily Mail [live blog entry: 13:55].
It is claimed that Everton – who are already said to be in advanced talks over a £25 million deal for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun – hope to get their business done early in January, after their squad was left stretched by injuries.

And the Daily Mail adds that Sevilla are ready to agree a similar fee for N’Zonzi, for whom West Ham have been rebuffed in a loan bid.
It is claimed that despite West Ham’s interest, the Frenchman favours a move to Everton anyway, whose manager, Sam Allardyce, brought him to English football while in charge at Blackburn Rovers.

N’Zonzi is said to have fallen out with Sevilla coach Eduardo Berizzo, who has since been sacked, leading the Sun to report that the 29-year-old could yet opt to remain in Andalusia.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the damage between the player – whose son is currently residing in London – and the club is deemed “irreparable”.
Would N’Zonzi be a good signing for Everton?
