Everton are reportedly keen on Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.
Wales’ Ashley Williams
According to The Mirror, Everton are interested in signing Swansea City defender Ashley Williams as they weigh up moves for potential John Stones replacements.
The Toffees are expected to make a move for a new centre back whether Stones leaves or not, but with Manchester City strongly pursuing the England international, manager Ronald Koeman appears to be ramping up his attempts to land a new defender.

After links to a host of central defenders, The Mirror now report that Everton are rekindling their interest in Swansea City star Ashley Williams after his superb performances at Euro 2016.
Williams, 31, has been a star in the Premier League ever since Swansea’s promotion in 2011, becoming one of the division’s most consistent performers.

At Euro 2016, Williams was a key player for Wales as they stunned the world to reach the semi-finals of the competition, and Everton are now keen to land him again having previously held an interest in the defender.
The Mirror claim that Williams could cost around £10m, with Everton keen after seeing their defence leak 55 goals last season – only the bottom five teams conceded more.

Williams, a proven, dependable defender with bags of experience, would fit the bill perfectly for Everton, but whether Swansea are keen to let him leave for a Premier League rival remains to be seen.
With money to spend thanks to Farhad Moshiri’s investment, Everton could tempt Swansea into a sale, and at 31, Williams may well fancy a move to a team challenging for European football next season.
