According to Di Marzio, Everton are interested in a move for Napoli winger Hirving Lozano.
The Toffees are in desperate need for more dynamism in the attack, and Lozano could be just what the doctor ordered.
The Mexican is a fantastic player. He has bags of pace and he can beat almost any defender in a one-on-one as shown by his scintillating performances at the 2014 World Cup.
In fact, Lozano has been labelled as a ‘very good player’ by Barcelona boss Xavi in the past, and it’s not hard to understand where this praise has come from.
Lozano’s attributes are there for all to see. The winger is one of the fastest footballers on the planet and his dribbling skills are enough to make any spectator’s jaw drop.
This has the potential to be a brilliant move for Everton, especially if Anthony Gordon gets his long-rumoured move away from Goodison Park.
Of course, no signing is a surefire success, and while it’s easy to get excited about Lozano, there’s also reason to be pessimistic.
Lozano’s speed and dribbling ability can’t be questioned, but his physicality can.
The Mexican isn’t the strongest player, and while he works incredibly hard, his lack of physicality may see him struggle in the Premier League.
Serie A and the Premier League are two different beasts, and while Lozano has performed admirably over in Italy, things could turn out differently in England.
However, depending on the pricetag, this could be a good signing, but with Di Marzio claiming that Napoli will only consider a sale if a big offer comes in, this may be too much of a gamble for a team like Everton.
Manchester United have also been linked in this article, and perhaps this is a move that would make more sense for the Red Devils.
