According to 90Min, Everton are interested in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Unfortunately for the Toffees, they will face plenty of competition for the Serbian’s signature. 90Min state that the likes of Juventus, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle are all keen on the forward, so it may be tough for the Merseyside club to win this race.
However, stranger things have happened in football and with Farhad Moshiri’s billions behind them, you can’t write Everton off.
So, what type of player would Everton be getting if they landed Vlahovic? Well, this man is a pure goalscorer.
He’s only 21 years old, but he netted 21 Serie A goals last season, while he already has 10 in 13 in the league this term.
According to Valeri Bojinov, who played alongside him at Partizan Belgrade, the striker believes he is the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“He was 15-16 years old (when I played with him at Partizan) and he was crazy – truly crazy,” said Bojinov.
“I trained with him and he said to me; ‘I am becoming stronger than everyone, I am the new Ibrahimovic, the next striker of Partizan and Serbia’.”
Vlahovic clearly has huge faith in his abilities if he thinks he can emulate Ibrahimovic, and the 6 foot 5 striker certainly has the physical attributes to follow in the Swedish legend’s footsteps.
Everton could be getting a cracking player if they can pull this signing off.
