Everton are reportedly keen on Sporting midfielder William Carvalho.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are interested in a move to sign Sporting star midfielder William Carvalho – but he’s one of a number of midfield targets.
The Toffees have plenty of money to spend this summer following the new investment of Farhad Moshiri, and with new boss Ronald Koeman at the helm, new signings will be brought in this summer.
One area that Koeman could look to strengthen is in midfield, where Gareth Barry is now 35 and Muhamed Besic has yet to cement himself as a first-team player at Goodison Park.
A long-term successor to Barry may be targeted to play alongside James McCarthy, and the Daily Mail claim that three key targets have emerged for Koeman and the Toffees.
Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin – who worked under Koeman at Southampton – is one, and Zenit St. Petersburg’s Axel Witsel is also mentioned, as is Sporting star William Carvalho.
Carvalho, 24, has come up through the ranks at Sporting, making more than 100 appearances for the Portuguese giants on his way to becoming one of the most highly-rated young defensive midfielders in the world.
A powerful, dominant midfielder who takes care of possession and protects his defences superbly, Carvalho has been playing for Portugal at this summer’s European Championships, and his performances have unsurprisingly triggered interest.
It’s now claimed that Everton have discussed a move to sign Carvalho, with the Angolan-born midfielder seen as a possible signing for Koeman – and he has a similar skillset to Victor Wanyama, who thrived at Southampton under Koeman for the last two seasons.
