Sam Allardyce’s Everton are reportedly interested in signing Chris Smalling from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Everton are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old central defender and are considering making a move for the England international.

The Toffees are claimed to have watched the former Fulham centre-back in action for the Red Devils during the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford last weekend.
Everton recently signed another player from the Red Devils. The Toffees secured the services of Smalling’s former United teammate Morgan Schneiderlin in January 2017 for an initial transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £20 million.

Good signing
Smalling is not exactly a ‘great’ defender, but the England international has a lot of experience and would be a good signing for Everton.
The Toffees have struggled defensively this season, and recruiting a no-nonsense player like Smalling would help them massively in 2018-19.
According to Spotrac.com, the 28-year-old earns £70,000 per week as salary at United.
