Last week, when Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban was upheld, The Independent reported that Everton were in pole position to sign Malaga striker, Sandro Ramirez.

Ronald Koeman personally made a trip to Spain to scout Sandro and met the player’s agent. However, latest reports from Spain suggests that the former Barcelona striker has chosen to join Atletico instead.

The Spaniard has agreed to a deal despite knowing that he won’t be able to play for the Rojiblancos due to the transfer ban.

Everton have quickly shifted the attention elsewhere, with Burnley striker Andre Gray on their radar.

According to reports from The Liverpool Echo, Ronald Koeman, the Everton manager, is an admirer of the player and could make a formal move for him.

The Clarets striker scored nine times in the league in 2016/17 even when the Burnley side struggled to score goals, especially away from home.

Gray has 12 months left on his contract, and Burnley could cash in on him if the offer is right. He is quick, unselfish and has the ability to run into channels.

He would be a good addition the the squad irrespective of whether Romelu Lukaku stays or not.
