Everton are reportedly prepared to meet the £52.6m release clause for Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose.

Borussia Dortmund were also considering a move for the Brazilian until it was made clear the forward would not leave the Anoeta Stadium unless his £52.6million release clause was met.

This has seen Dortmund back down, but has not deterred the Toffees as they continue to keep tabs on a player who impressed this season with 20 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions.
This was not enough to see Willian make the Brazil squad for the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia, however, with the 26-year-old still yet to receive his first senior cap for his country.

It is not the first time the Merseyside club have shown interest in the South American, with the Daily Mail reporting in April of last year that they were hoping to complete a £28m deal to sign the attacker.
It could now cost almost double that to sign Willian, with any prospective deal further complicated by the fact that the former Brazil Under-20 international is thought to be happy to remain at Sociedad.
