Everton are in talks to land Christophe Galtier ahead of Nice, according to Be Foot.
Galtier, who has just won the Ligue 1 title with Lille, has an agreement in principle to join Nice – but it is now claimed that Everton’s interest in throwing a spanner in the works.
Everton are apparently willing to pay the French boss more money than Nice are offering, and the lure of the Premier League could be tempting for the manager.
Indeed, Everton have apparently already contacted Galtier’s representatives, as they look to put an end to their hunt for a new manager.
An interesting development
The Toffees would certainly be making a statement of ambition if they were to land Galtier.
The 54-year-old’s reputation has soared this season after winning the league title.

He is completely unproven in England, but has picked up 231 wins across the course of his managerial career.
Galtier may not be in the same high profile bracket as Carlo Ancelotti, but he could still offer an appealing choice for an Everton side, who have ambitions to push up the table next season.
