Everton have reportedly made a new move for Wilfried Zaha.
According to Sky Sports, Everton have launched a new bid of £55million for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha – and it includes both James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun.
The Toffees are attempting to swoop in for Zaha after Arsenal switched their attention to his international teammate Nicolas Pepe instead.
Everton allegedly had a £55million bid rejected over the weekend, but have now allegedly returned with a new bid, with the same cash on the table.
This time though, Everton have thrown midfielder McCarthy and striker Tosun into the bid, attempting to convince Palace to sell their prized asset.
That won’t be easy, given that Palace have already sold one homegrown star this summer in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but the addition of two players is interesting.
TalkSPORT suggested in January that Palace wanted Tosun on loan, whilst the Liverpool Echo reported earlier this month that Palace are keen to lure McCarthy away from Goodison Park.
There’s therefore some interest in the pair, and it gives Palace something to think about, given that they would receive huge cash plus two reinforcements for Roy Hodgson to work with.
This could be the best way for Everton to get Zaha, and they’ll now sit and wait to hear whether Palace are interested in taking their two misfits off their hands this summer in a move to send Zaha to Merseyside.
