Kurt Zouma was on loan at Everton from Chelsea last season.

Everton's Kurt Zouma

According to The Times, Everton have made contact with Chelsea over the signing of Kurt Zouma in the summer transfer window.

Zouma spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Everton from Premier League rivals Chelsea, and it has been reported that the Toffees want to keep the 24-year-old France international central defender on loan at Goodison Park this season as well.

Stats

Zouma is a very good central defender who was a success for Everton during his loan spell at Goodison Park last season.

The France international made 29 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Chelsea stay?

With Chelsea under a transfer ban, it is hard to see the London outfit let Zouma leave, and manager Frank Lampard will want the former Saint-Etienne star to stay at Stamford Bridge this season.

Moreover, the defender – who earns £40,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – could himself see his long-term future at Chelsea and may not be willing to leave the Blues this summer.
