According to ESPN, Everton are in advanced talks to sign Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on a season-long loan deal.
It’s claimed that the Toffees are close to bringing Tomori to Goodison Park, despite Newcastle United wanting to sign him.
Negotiations are advanced, and Tomori could now follow in the footsteps of Chelsea teammate Kurt Zouma in making a season-long switch to Merseyside.
Tomori may have signed a five-year deal with Chelsea in December, but he didn’t play a single minute of Premier League action when football returned in June.
With Thiago Silva snapped up at Chelsea, Tomori is slipping down Frank Lampard’s pecking order, and will seemingly head to Everton for first-team football.

The move may well have been accelerated by Mason Holgate’s injury, sustained in Saturday’s 2-0 friendly win over Preston North End.
Tomori has shown real potential at Chelsea, and has huge potential at just 22 – but the fear for Everton will be that he is only joining on loan with no prospect for a permanent move.
Tomori will now join Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Jarrad Branthwaite as centre back options for Carlo Ancelotti whilst becoming the club’s fourth signing in quick succession with Allan and James Rodriguez signed and Abdoulaye Doucoure imminent.
