Everton and Southampton are reportedly interested in Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk, while Chelsea allegedly want John Stones.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has identified Virgil van Dijk as a potential replacement for John Stones, according to The Sunday People.
It has been reported by the British newspaper that defender Stones is a target for reigning Premier League champions Chelsea.
If the 21-year-old England international leaves the Toffees this month, then the Merseyside outfit will enter the race for Celtic centre-back Van Dijk, according to the report.
It has also been reported by The Sunday People that Everton’s Premier League rivals, Southampton, have made a bid of £8 million for the 24-year-old Dutchman.
Good signing for Everton?
Van Dijk has been a huge success at Celtic and is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.
In fact, the 24-year-old is probably the best centre-back in the Scottish first division, and it is understandable why Everton and Southampton are both claimed to be interested in him.
The former Groningen star would be a good signing for Everton, despite the fact that he would arrive at Goodison Park after the season has started.
