According to The Sun, Everton are looking to snap up Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jake Turner, with the Toffees hoping to take advantage of his contract situation.
The Toffees lost 1-0 to Southampton on Sunday to make it just one win in the last eight Premier League games, and whilst fans want to see some players come in to make an instant impact, Everton are also keeping one on the future.

Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined the club from Sheffield United on deadline day back in August, and it’s now claimed that Everton could look to make another raid on a League One club.
The Sun report that Everton are keen on Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jake Turner, and are hoping to use a family tie to help them lure the youngster to Goodison Park.

Turner, 17, is an England Under-18 international who has already been on the bench for Bolton this season, and his potential appears to have caught the eye of Everton, who will be looking to develop a young goalkeeper behind veteran stopper Maarten Stekelenburg.
Turner fits the bill, and it’s suggested that Everton are hoping that they have the upper hand in the pursuit of the signature, given that his sister Millie plays for Everton Ladies.

A family link like that could help Everton land Turner, and it’s even stated that Everton could land a cut-price deal for the goalkeeper as Bolton are unable to sign him to a professional deal as a result of ‘complex Football League embargo rules’.
We could now see Everton make a January move for Turner, potentially giving manager Ronald Koeman a talented young stopper to develop over the coming years – though they would be hoping for better success than they had with Mason Springthorpe, a goalkeeper they signed from Shrewsbury Town at 16, but failed to make an impact despite being tipped for big things.
