The Blues want to sign a replacement before sanctioning a loan deal for the youngster.
Bournemouth’s Matt Ritchie and Everton’s Brendan Galloway
According to the Shield’s Gazette, Everton are holding up Brendan Galloway’s move to Newcastle United until they can sign a defender themselves.
The youngster was a breakout star for the Blues last season, starring at left back in the absence of Leighton Baines.
He is likely to struggle to get into the team under Ronald Koeman this season though with Baines and Bryan Oviedo both ahead of him in the pecking order.

So far a deal has not been completed though and the Shield’s Gazette has explained that is because Everton are refusing to allow the youngster to depart until they sign a defender for themselves.
They have signed Ashley Williams in this transfer window but want more after selling John Stones to Manchester City.
It remains to be seen if they can get the men they want, with it appearing Newcastle will have to wait until late in the window for Galloway.
