The Toffees have allegedly identified a primary transfer target ahead of the January window.

Everton have scouted Danish international midfielder Thomas Delaney with a view to making a January move for the FC Copenhagen star, according to a report from the Mirror.
The Toffees have allegedly been keen on the 25-year-old for the last two years as he has been starring in the Champions League for the Danish side.
Delaney actually signed for Werder Bremen in the summer window but he was immediately sent back to the Danish capital, where he has won four Superliga titles and three Danish Cups.
He moved to the Bundesliga for £1.5m, but Werder could be willing to let him leave on a permanent deal for a fee of around £5m despite the fact he is yet to play a single game for the German side.
According to the Mirror, Everton are ready to step up their interest in Delaney, and Ronald Koeman’s brother and assistant manager Erwin went to watch Copenhagen’s Champions League clash with Porto in midweek.

The paper’s report also states that Delaney is open to the idea of moving to the Premier League, but it is unclear whether Everton would be willing to pay the reported fee.
Delaney has scored six goals in 17 Superliga appearances for Denmark this season, as well as netting a superb long-range effort in his side’s Champions League win over Club Brugge.
Koeman is looking for reinforcements in January after his side’s poor recent form as he looks to strengthen his squad for the second half of the campaign.
