According to Corriere Torino, Everton have been speaking to Merih Demiral’s agent for weeks, as talk over a potential transfer hots up.
The Italian news outlet claim that ‘something is moving’ in regards to negotiations between Everton and Juventus.
We’ve recently covered a fair bit on Everton’s interest in the 19-cap Turkey international.
We documented a report from Calciomercato which said that the Toffees should be bidding for the 23-year-old imminently.
However, the fact Everton have been talking to Demiral’s agent for weeks is fresh news – Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands must be truly convinced.
Another piece of news, again from Calciomercato, said that Juventus will happily part ways with their No.28 if they are given €40 million (£34.8 million).

That is a hefty sum of money.
However, if Ancelotti and Brands truly are convinced by the man Brendan Rodgers called ‘very good’ (Leicester Mercury) then it’s an amount that Everton can afford.
After all, big-money deals for players like Richarlison, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Jordan Pickford prove that Farhad Moshiri has the cash to back whoever is in charge.

Juventus are in need of cash. Of every player in Andrea Pirlo’s squad, only Matthijs de Light and Dejan Kulusevski have been deemed untouchable.
In that respect, Everton hold plenty of power at the negotiating table with Juventus, so a deal that works for the Toffees could well happen.
We can only wait and see what happens.
As things stand, however, it seems like Everton are infatuated by Demiral, and are desperate to bring him to Goodison Park.
